Upgrading a V-4 series rewinder to the new V-5  series can increase production speed and performance with easier set up and half the cost. Elsner Engineering is offering a special upgrade retrofit package for companies currently running an Elsner V-4 series machine built after 1973. Some of the key benefits  include complete machine disassembly and inspection by Elsner factory personnel; relay  logic replaced with PLC controls and touch screen operator interface with integral  machine diagnostics; servo motor control added to main cam shaft and cone drive;  machine speed increased to 600 feet (183 m) per minute; all new electrical cabinet and  machine wiring and an added safety guarding package with lock. In addition to these benefits, Elsner technicians will replace machine limit switches with updated photo eyes and sensors where applicable, replace 110 VAC control voltage with  24VDC control voltage and completely test the machine in their factory.
